This group will focus on helping children learn how to understand worries and learn that “just because I think it, doesn’t mean it’s true.” Highly effective and evidence-based skills will be taught by Debbie Kolbrener MA, LPC in a warm, caring, and nurturing environment. A fun group where each child will develop skills to immediately begin to conquer their anxiety, shyness, social fears, and generalized worry. Helping girls learn to manage the physical feelings of panic and anxiety. Understanding how their specific anxiety “talks to them” developing the story of their anxiety and how to avoid the thinking and behavior traps that anxiety can cause. Children will be provided opportunities to practice their anxiety management skills in challenging situations, a process known as "exposure", to foster confidence and new coping habits.
